School
When I think of school I sneeze.
There are funny things in the shrubs. Not all plovers are innocent of the crimes we hear about. Where is the sin in syntax? the fun in phonology? the antics in semantics? College
In college I learned that mathematics could be psychedelic. Many of my classmates at Brown were eastcoastal, sardonic, seductive, and rich. Others were idealistic, curious, cryptic, and flatulent. I lived in a communal Edwardian household full of whole foods and elegant plummeting plaster molding. Some of us felt comfortable amidst the statistically sane. I studied typography, brain functions, and Sanskrit. I ate clams. Enough.
