David's Story
I am Retired USAF, Major, BS-Texas State University, Masters in Management-University of Philippines, live in Eustis, Florida about 30 minutes north of Disney. Presently dealing in commodity sales of gold, solid and liquid fuels, agricultural goods and banking instruments. I am enjoying Florida, family and friends.
I left Frankfort in June 1967 for the Air Force and I have not had any contact anyone from those days since then so looking back has really been a serious memory exercise!!
I spent 22 years in the Air Force, 10 years enlisted and 12 years as an Officer. My job was Air Battle Management (ran the Air War) and I loved it. I retired from the Air Force in 1990 as a Major. I had made Major one year Below the Zone (BTZ) which put me in the top 1% of all ...Expand for more
Air Force Officers so my career was on track to possibly make General if I did not mess it up!!!
My last assignment I was Commander of the 71st Tactical Air Control Squadron, MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida. My next job would have been the Pentagon, Legislative Liaison.
As I said, I loved my career but I chose to put my family first, so I punched out and retired into the business world in August 1990.
I met my wife in Ohio 1970 while assigned to Lockbourne AFB, Columbus, OH. We Married June 1971 and have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. We enjoy our family and life in Central Florida (Eustis/Mount Dora) as much as we can.
