Well, to quote the dead, "What a long strange trip it's been. I find myself at 43, Still smoking.....Still burning the candle at both ends..... I also find myself .......Back in Oxnard.....(HEEEEELLLP) I managed a 6 year pardon from my apparent life sentence on the Gold Coast. Here's how it went. I Left school early via the c.h.s.p.e. exam, in feb of "83 Lived with my road dog Orange(Eric B.) And worked three jobs. kbby, subway and carrows. I got married at 19 divorced at 20, Fathered my oldest ,Joshua. I worked roofing for a couple years, then managed Pizza Places for Double Deal and Dominos. In 1988 I Gave up the pizza biz to work in broadcast radio full time. from 87-90,Dated an awesome gal by the name of Donna, Better than I deserved, lemme tell you....but, youth, ignorance and addiction. Life's a b sometimes. anyway, Stations I worked.. KMYX Ojai, CA 6p-12a + wknds 18 months (Was still working at pizza place also.) KT103 Lancaster, Pm drive, 2 yrs, KSSN Little rock Ar, Overnights,m-f Sat 10a-2p 1.5yrs KCLA Pine Bluff Ar (The freaking ARMPIT of the u.s.a.) 4 months. (was moonlighting could not hang.) KWNN N.Little rock AR 1 year Board ops/ Prod. KOWA Las Vegas 2-6P m-f 8 months, then station folded. (The whole vegas move was a disaster, killed my radio career, as the 91 recession decimated the industry.) I Moved back to Oxnard 30 days before the New Job was starting in Las Vegas. Spent 2weeks working at the Fair Doing announcer work for the bungie jumping demonstration they had that year, and met Barbara Montolongo, whom I married in 1991 I am still married to her today, although I have not laid eyes on her since about '93 KHAY, Ventura 6 months Weekends only KNJO Thousand oaks 9 months,weekends mostly, before resuming my roofing career in 1993 I worked for Channel Islands and Sundance roofing, with a brief stint at Bird until 1999 when I fell 14 feet to the driveway below from a sidejob on the weekend. (that means no money mouseketeers, no workers comp, No medical bills paid, no big settlement. 8-( )) I broke my right heel, right wrist, and the right side of my freakin head! During that period (93-99)I was living with my youngest son's mother, A Ventura gal from back east orig. We split in 2003, but are still Friends and co-parents. She is the best person I know. 2nd only to my own Late mother, with whom she shared a disturbing number of good qualities. (freud would have a field day with me and that one...) She is very intelligent, witty, selfless, stubborn, and good looking in the classic Aryan fashion, (blond hair to the waist, blue eyes, 5 foot Not much and well endowed in all ways female), But with just the right blend of Bi-polarish-manic depressive neurosis, O.C.D.'s and co-dependency.
