David's Story
Dave Rogers is the president and CEO of BCHAZMAT Management Ltd. He started the company with a vision of superior service to clients as a consultant in the areas of hazardous materials management and safety training.
After retiring as a Fire Chief, Mr. Rogers earned his BA and MBA degrees , and later qualified as an instructor for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods in 1983. He did a stint with the Canadian Military in the Risk Management / Hazmat branch, where he was an ISO 14000 Lead Auditor, and as well developed and taught courses in hazmat safety. courses. Mr Rogers is also an instructor with the University of Victoria in the Continuing Education Distance Learning Program, teaching Health Protection Technology.
Some of the projects he has recently been involved in include managing the Storm Water Bylaw for the City of Victoria, which actively promotes source control for runoff from parking lots and automotive operations; working with gold mining operations to clean up abandoned sites in preparation for reopening; and evaluating ongoing mining construction activities to ensure they are operating in a manner that is safe for their personnel and the environment.
