David's Story
Life
Have kicked around the southeast for the last 31 years. Was living in Barbourville, KY. I had retired, but recently was lured to go back to work. I'm now on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. Just like a rolling stone, but what the heck. You only live once so enjoy.
Hey, drop me a line when you hit this site. I'll happily bore you to tears via e-mail :)
PS: Just heard that I'm going to be a Grandpa in the near future. Wow, who would ever have thought. Now I get to return all the favors that the kids gave me over the last years..... Two Shih-Tsus and a grandbaby. Ain't life grand.
Workplace
Am working on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi running a start-up roll-off company. As usual, business is somewhat like civilized warfare and a ton of fun.
I do occasionally play hooky and get in a round of golf or two from time to time. Aren't cell phones great! Can even make a deal or two from the 16th green :)
Update:
October 17th 2008. Hi to all that want to peek at this. Just finished up hurricane season and we dodged the bullet one more time here. Whew, nothing like a close call. Although, with the stock market tanking now, looks like I'll have to stay busy for a while.
Got another grandchild on the way. Everyone in the family is twitterpated (except for grouchy me). I'm one of those guys without one ounce of a feminine side. Whatever.
Hoping someone in JC want's to pursue a class reunion of sort...Expand for more
s. Nothing fancy, just a time to rejoice in outsmarting time - at least for a bit.
That's it.
December, 2008. Well like the rest of us, my 401K has evaporated - temporarily. So it looks like I'm destined to work until I'm planted. Well truly with me, idle hands are the devil's workshop, work is better. I've had a couple of recent new contacts with old schoolmates. Drop a line if you're poking around. Wishing everyone a better 2009.
Now we enter 2010. 2009 was both challenging and rewarding. One of the best things to occur was our 20th Class Reunion. A lot of folks worked very hard to make it a success. And was it ever! Now number of grandchildren is up to 3, all healthy.
I want to wish all reading this a great New Year.
Update: September 2011. Wow, more that a year has passed since the last time that I posted anything on this. I guess that Facebook has replaced this for ongoing "keeping up". Hit 60 this year. Who would have "thunk" that I made it to this birthday. Particularly with a smoking habit that I've finally beaten. I'm blest that I apparently not had any major health issues with such disastrous behavior. Now comes the 25 lbs that I've put on. Do the challenges never cease.
Everyone else in my family are doing fine, including the grandchildren and the Shih Tzu's that rule the house. I hope that all who read this may know that I think well of each of you and wish you the best.
