Life After graduating from Davenport Central I attended Augustana College for two years and then the U of Iowa for two years. During those years I worked at the Davenport YM-YWCA in various positions and it is there that I met the woman I would later marry. We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Our oldest, Brian, was adopted from Viet Nam when he was 9 months old. He had heart valve issues but those miraculously disappeared over time. He has a Paralegal degree and is a probation officer for Rock Island County. Our next child, Dawn, was one of our foster children. We were able to adopt her. She had Cerebral Palsy at birth. She has progressed far beyond the school systems predictions. She is currently employed at ARC Industries. She has moved in to her first apartment and really enjoys being independent. Our first natural born child, Peter, had meningitis at 18 months. He recovered with no issues and now has a family counseling practice in St. Louis. Katherine is our youngest and had fevers of unknown origin as an infant but recovered and has had no further issues. She got her degree in signing for the deaf. She is our church organist and is a stay at home Mom. I worked at Republic Electric, Graybar Electric and Lighting Associates before finally starting a career with John Deere. I retired from Deere in January 2005 and then consulted for Sedona Technologies working on a project for John Deere Turf Care. I did a whirlwind tour of Europe t...Expand for more
