David's Story
¿Come & listen to the story bout a man named Dave,
Poor country boy descended from the slaves,
& then one day life fed him special food,
Went from a nerd to a pretty cool dude,
(Black Gold, Texas Me...)¿
The next thing you know Dave traveled round the World,
Saw a lotta sights & a lotta pretty girls,
A happy stress free life would have been his chosen fate,
So how did he get stuck in the Lone Star State,
(Tejas that is, Longhorns, cowpokes¿)
¿ok, I'm just bein silly...:-P
How do you old friends remember me? 20th reunion proved most folks think I'm still a "lil book worm".
I always wanted to be a astronaut when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a impossible idea. As it turns out, they were right but for the wrong reasons.
How do I blow off steam &/or relax? These days, I jump on my bike & disappear. If I can't, I have a great extended family & we're always there to pick each other up.
My parents are my heroes-those who know them understand why that's so.
My biggest surprise is how so...Expand for more
cially I was probably the "Ugly Duckling" growing up, but now people treat me more like the "Swan". I haven't changed that much; people's perception of me has changed.
My current age is 46. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old & cranky. I was so completely wrong-I fight the good fight against "Father Time" daily.
My best friend would tell you I'm their truest friend & generous to a fault , but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as difficult to get to know if I don't want to allow you in.
What would I do w/ 1 do over? I'd probably never use it because that which didn¿t kill me made me stronger & everything I was made me everything I am. I'm pretty happy w/ the current version of me & have been for the past 12 years.
I think my HS classmates would be most surprised to know that for the last 25 years, I've been regularly asked if I was a pimp. Even my own parents have asked me this & I can't explain why. Can't a man hang out w/ a lot of women & not be a pimp?
