David's Story
Life
After High School (De Queen, Arkansas three years, Baker, Louisiana one), I went to college at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. I started in Music, and finished in Mass Communications.
Actually, I quit UCA before I was done ('86?) and worked at a couple of Television Stations (KTHV first in Little Rock, then back to KRZB in Hot Springs where I had worked a short time while attending UCA.) KRZB shut down around '87 and I was laid off (my first time.) I went back to UCA and was graduated the summer of '88.
For the next two years, I free-lanced doing video for different production companies around Little Rock, and got married to Becky Smith (who I met at UCA)in 1989. In 1990 we were expecting our first child (Bethany) so I decided to get a real (i.e. full-time) job.
I went to work for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in June 1990 doing video production. In 1996 Becky and I had our second child (...Expand for more
Raechel.) In December of 2001, after a change in leadership and many political appointees (you got to love state government,) AGFC decided to eliminate my department and I was laid off for the second time in my life.
Since that time, I have been self-employed and have worked for almost every television network (cable and broadcast) on your TV dial - if you have an old TV that is. I also work on video projects for private companies and organizations all over the world. I've traveled all over the country, been through hurricanes and other natural disasters, and had to deal with celebrities and politicians that many times were not very nice (though many are quite friendly.) Oh well, it's a living.
I try to arrange my schedule around helping at my daughter's schools and other family activities, and don't seem to have enough time to work on my old Dodge Challenger.
If I think of anything else I'll let everyone know.
