David's Story

As an Air Force brat my family moved a lot. We lived in Alaska, Colorado ,Texas and New Jersey.I started El Rancho High in Pico Rivera then we moved to Ft Worth where I attended Laneri Catholic High then back to CA where I attended Petaluma High then back to Pico Rivera where I finished at El Rancho. hool and volunteered for Airborne and Special Forces and was a Parachute Rigger. Later joined USMC at MCAS El Toro CA and was promoted to Warrant Officer and ended a 21 year military career with tours in CONUS, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Okinawa and Korea. I lost a good friend. CWO5 Sid Heal passed away at 72. We went to Basic School at Quantico and served in 3rd ANGLICO. He had 4 combat tours.

12th Special Forces Group Reunion, Ft MacArthur, CA Sept 2007. SGT Al Moncayo and SFC Art Dolick USA Ret. We went to Rigger school together in 1965.
Rigger Class #66-2 Ft Lee, VA (Aug-Oct 1965). I am in the middle behind the instructor and Al Moncayo and Art Dolick are on the right- see photo above for us 42 years later.

82nd Airborne Convention Reno NV Aug 2011. These lovely young ladies are both NCO's and paratroopers in the 82nd Airborne Division. They served as our bartenders at the Convention.
Went to a GREAT comedy show at March ARB very entertaining.
