David's Story
Life
I am a former school teacher who left that life for the lucrative rewards of an over the road truck driver, and I am still looking for those lucrative rewards. I drive for a large international discount retailer based in Bentonville AR and have been with the company since I started driving for them part time in 1986. I attended the University formerly known as Southwest Missouri State in Springfield and have lived in the Ozarks in both AR and MO since SMS with one year in the AR delta to attend grad school at Arkansas State University. I taught band in four different Ozark school districts(Galena and Cabool MO and Bentonville and Rogers AR) for over 15 years and wound up working for Wal Mart as a part time driver to support my teaching habit and my family. That part time job led to full time and I have been with WMT full time since 92, when I kicked the teaching habit.

ed to be the dad of two daughters. I currently store my belongings at my home in Springfield MO, and get to visit "my stuff" briefly on weekends. I have become a devoted Ozarker, in love with the region, the people of the Ozarks, the lakes, rivers and forest of the region. Living in Springfield and I enjoy the ecletic opportunities of art, music, theater, restaurants and sports of the city. I had lived a number of years and still work out of NW Arkansas and share an equal affection for that area.
I am always glad to hear from old friends from ASU, SMS, WGHS, Walter Jackson Elementary(back in my home town of Decatur AL), former students,teachers and associates. I am pretty good at returning e mails. Being a part of this and other online communities has been a joy as I have reconnected with many wonderful people out of the past and look forward to reconnecting with many more. David Shaw...a.k.a.
