David's Story
Life
Blah Blah...blah blah blah blah. You've read the story a hundred times already before you got to the S's. But...Married 20 1/2 years (to the same wonderful wife!) and God has blessed us with 3 beautiful daughters and two beautiful grandsons. Whitney is 24, married and has 2 sons. Her oldest is Connor, 7 and Mason, 3 . Morgan is about to turn 19, a Freshman at Auburn University and a double major in music education and sociology. Rebekah is 16 and is also very involved with the band and our church.
School
You might be wondering why I show up on two different CHS communities...Well, while I spent all my High School years at Campbell of Smyrna, many people I knew from elementary school attended Campbell of Fairburn.
If anyone from Smyrna remembered me at all, they would probably remember me as "the guy that hung out with Mike Fritz's little brother." Though I was in on a couple of the big pranks pulled around the school, I was so low off the radar that no one ever suspected it...plus, I knew how to keep my mouth shut!!!
From OCI trailer painting...Expand for more
s and pimento cheese sandwiches stuck the lunchroom walls, to Creatures of the Mist in the courtyards on foggy mornings, it amazed me how easy it was to get by with stuff just by not saying a word.
For people from Cliftondale, I'm not sure if I even WANT to know how folks might remember me. Fortunately, God is good and looks beyond our childhood and blesses anyway.
Additionally, I spent part of my 8th grade in Olathe, Kansas (where my Southern drawl made the most notoriety) before returning to the big G-A and finishing middle school in Smyrna before going to CHS.
College
Spent a few quarters at Southern Tech before abandoning the idea I would be an Electrical Engineer, fell in love with Fire & EMS public service, went to school for that while working for the then Metro Ambulance in Marietta. Then joined DeKalb County in 87 and the rest, as they say, is history.
Workplace
After a long career in the Fire & EMS industry ended by an unplanned retirement, I launched into the building industry...residential first and now in the industrial building industry.
