David's Story
Life
It is so very interesting to read how many different things we have each done and achieved in our lives, and how many of us have been blessed with loving spouses and families and are enjoying so much happiness in life. What GREAT opportunities we have had as a class.
As for me, I went to Austin College immediately after graduation where I met the true love of my life, Donnell. We married a few years later in 1976 and migrated to Austin where we went to work, had three wonderful children, and I finally finished my Biochemistry degree at the University of Texas. My wife Donnell is from Tulsa, Ok. and grew up in Japan through most of High School. She has taught Special Education at Leander High School where we live for the past 7 years, and now serves as the department head there. There is probably some correlation between her profession and how she has been able to put up with me for all these years.
Our three kids are:

ssibly the greatest stepmom ever to her 10yo stepson Macon. (I know, this technically means that I am a grandfather, but I'm still getting adjsuted to that concept).
** Cayce (22yrs, 1980), a Junior at UT-Austin, working toward Law School, President of the Ski Club (yes snowboarders in Texas) and thinks that the entire world should be burnt orange.
** Daniel (19yrs, 1983), possibly one of the most considerate young men I know, a freshman at Baylor Univ. working toward a career in Psychiatry and a commission in the Air Force.
We live in the Hill Country outside of Austin near Lake Travis, and have horses, dogs and an empty nest effective this year. I recently retired after 26 years of public safety service, and have begun a new career with Northrop Grumman as a program management consultant for defense and homeland security programs.
Unfortunately, we missed the recent reunion and would love to hear from folks about all the excitement we missed and keep in better touch in the future.
