David's Story
Life
It was worth the wait. I met my wife in November of 2003 while working in downtown Chicago. We met at a church sponsored CPR class and it is true that they say, "When you know.. you know." We were married in August of 2004 and our first child arrive in November of 2005. His name is William Phillip Voss (named after both of our fathers) and little did we know how much our lives would change in so many great ways. We are very thankful for what we have.
Workplace
Starting in 1996 I began working as a Network Consultant for various companies in Milwaukee and Chicago The highlight was when I was offered a position in 2001 with Heidrick & Struggles International in the Sears Tower, Chicago. I was able to work with a broad spectrum of people from around the world while I spent 3 years working as a senior Net...Expand for more
work Engineer.
Because I am now in Seminary, I work as a Network Engineer in the National NOC at night for Charter Communications in St. Louis. It is a perfect job because I can use my skills and still study for my Masters in Divinity while at work.
Military
I served in the U.S. Navy from 1988 - 1992. I was stationed in San Diego and went on 3 Western Pacific cruises. 2 on a cruiser, 1 on an aircraft carrier. I was an "Operations Specialist". I tracked and identified unknown aircraft, shipping, and submarines. During the first Gulf War I worked on a team that tracked Iraqi shipping and coordinated the interception of that shipping. It was a great 4 years. It it true, you are able to see the world. I spent a lot of time in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Phillipines, Brazil, and Thailand, just to name a few.
