David's Story

Greetings to whoever is reading this. Ni hao or nee haow. As a newly retired person I am still getting use to my time as retired. I do not know if that makes sense to you but it is an interesting change for me as I was very busy in my pre-retirement years. On August 21st I lost my sole-mate to cancer. Shari and we enjoyed life together so I place a picture of us in my gallery. Currently I have been going to Canada since the border has opened. As of September 23, I have been across the border 3 times and plan to return this coming weekend for about a week or so. First of all I enjoy going to church. This year I did miss one Sunday due to an unusual situation. Now to my other activities I enjoy traveling. Back in 2018 I decided to visit lighthouses. It is not necessarily the lighthouses, but it is the history and also it gets me into areas that I have never been. Currently I have visited 72 out of 85 State of New York lighthouses and I have seen a number of others in other states during this period as I have traveled through over 25 other states. When possible I climb them and enjoy taking pictures. Oh yes, part of the adventurers is just taking time out and setting up the beach chair and pu...Expand for more
tting my feet into the sand while reading a book. The Adirondacks are not far from where I live and I enjoy going into the mountains. This past January I sacrificed some time and stayed in a condo overlooking Mirror Lake in Lake Placid. While their one of my adventures took me around Lake Champlain, but this time it was during the winter. I like to have fun and I think that I am somewhat easy to get along. Of course it is not just lighthouses that I go and see. One of my most recent adventures took me to Massachusetts and went to Plymouth Colony, the Mayflower, of course the Rock, John Adams home, plus much more. If I see something of interest my steering wheel just makes the turn. Back in the fall of 2017 I lost my wonderful wife, Shari, to cancer. For over 2o years I have lived in upstate New York. I am a goal setting person and one of my objectives is to visit all 30 territories/countries of the Caribbean in the next several years. I have been to several. God bless whoever is reading this and have a good day. Zàihu - please look that up if you want. or que tenga un buen dia (Spanish) or na echeis mia omorfi mera (Greek) or just: have a good day.
