Winner of the National Restaurant Association's "Innovation of the Year -Inaugural Year", XDX Innovative Refrigeration has more than 15,300 installations with sites in eighteen countries and holds seventeen U.S. and forty international patents. Having demonstrated dramatic energy savings and product quality improvements throughout medical, industrial, food service, supermarket, and air-conditioning industries, and after performance with winery and processing chillers, blast freezers, and refrigerated storage facilities. Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is the Exclusive OEM Licensee of the technology in certain markets. new Chicago Produce Market project. In September of 2002, XDX was invited to accompany the U.S. Agribusiness Exposition in Havana, Cuba as the only non-agricultural business, and through refrigeration innovations for the medical industry concerning blood storage. In January 2003 XDX became the first non-medical, non-agribusiness U.S. Company to receive an export license for Cuba in more than forty years.
Efforts focused upon thermodynamics and refrigerant flow-properties, and inventor of the A.R.M.E.D.® and X-STREAM® technologies from XDX®.
Conference presentations: U.S.Agra-Business Exposition, Havana, Cuba 2002, Energy Conferences, The National Restaurant Association, and The MAECO Architecture and Engineering association on topics concerning quality assurance, FDA changes, energy, heat transfer, and refrigeration applications. Wightman has authored numerous articles, as well as technical papers for The International Institute of Refrigeration, ASHRAE and the RSES Journal and publications in syndication in Australia and Japan.
