David's Story
Life
Updated Oct 2007: If you can pull up a Geocities webpage - look me up at plndv3363 (you'll be glad you did!) --
What a strange life... over the past 25 years I've been a Trezza's Deli employee, worked backstage at the Garden State Arts Center, brain damage and a former girlfriend led me to banking for awhile... some of you may have heard me during the radio days of FM106.3 (but you never called in a request)... and currently blessed with a job in the airline industry, which has allowed me to travel the world for a song...
Over the last few years I've been able to visit the following locations: Passport stamps from Croatia, Budapest, Prague, Switzerland, Morocco, Beijing, Tahiti, Greece, Ireland, Holland, Paris, Rome, Milan, Dusseldorf, London, Glasgow, and some places that don't require a passoprt, like Alaska, Arizona, California, and Florida! I've done day trips to see ball games at Fenway park, Dolphins Stadium, Wrigley Field, Candlestick park, The Astrodome, Tiger Stadium, Riverfront Stadium, Jacobs Field, County Stadium in Milwaukee, and the Oakland Coliseum - and have flown to places like Memphis to see the Rolling Stones and to Vegas to see Paul McCartney... nice benefit of the job - and even better yet when you can share the experience with others as a travel companion.
I kept ties to kids I once lived with for a few years - my pride and joy even if they aren't from my DNA, my family-that-should-have-been (and in some ways are and always will be)...
There have been times where I could have done the Lou Gerigh "Luckiest Man On The Face Of The Earth" speech and meant it sincerely...I mean, I've been kisses by Betty Buckley and Laura Branigan, chatted with Eric Clapton and Billy Joel... traveled to Hawaii, Marid Gras, the San Diego Zoo, Glasgow, Anchorage, San Francisco, Rome... for ...Expand for more
some a lifetime of adventure - I did it in one year.
Through time people have passed through my life, some have come back around more than once. Has it been 25 years? My thoughts turn to some the friends from South (and the Bayshore people who went over to the Dark Side - NORTH!)on occasion - where are my track buddies? Dave Carney, Pat Williams, Phyllis Gunn, Hal Lescinsky... or the folks who did the whole 13 years of Fairview/Bayshore/South... or people like Barbara Morelli, or Karen Olsen, or Johnna McCarthy who somehow managed to make me smile (and put up with some of my bizarre antics as well)... Kim Rausch, I missed your Daisycutter days and a lot more. How did so many good people fade into the backdrop... how did I fade into the scenery... maybe we can find the answers to these and other great mysteries.
That's my passport photo ( 1999) and not my mug shot from some felony - i'm sure they exist somewhere with the boys from the 23rd preceint... but that's a story for another time and cable television.
An old 2005 Update: So far in this new year I've gotten to Wrigley Field to see the Cubs, Mardi Gras once again, Tahiti, and Greece. Working on totally updating my webpage (and my life) to share with those who choose to view (websearch it and take a look as they won't let me place a link here).
Had a date with Deb Sherman in September 2005 to go see Paul McCartney in Tampa, and hope to get my other Deb (Wilber) out to a long-overdue dinner in Newark (or Laico's in Jersey City). For those who live away, I'm always up for an adventure and a day out of Jersey.
At the 20th reunion some of us discussed the possibility of doing 25 someplace like Vegas... guess we fumbled the ball on a silver reunion but number 30 is coming before you know it - has anybody gotten the ball rolling on this yet?.
