Life certainly doesn't turn out like you think it is going to when you are only 18, does it?? Steve & I were married in 1991 and had one beautiful daughter (now 14) and one gorgeous son (now 12). We happily went about our lives until we decided to become foster parents to help the unfortunate children in Grays Harbor. We have been doing that for about six years now. During our foster endeavor we have had dozens and dozens of kiddos ... honestly, I lost count a long time ago! We love helping abused and neglected children find their way through life and help them realize that they are worth something and don't deserve to be mistreated. It is absolutely amazing to watch these young people grow. My brother-in-law says we have one of those "tv show families" and my husband says "EIGHT IS ENOUGH!!!!" The only way through some days is with a good sense of humor ... and a little comfort food! We adopted two of our foster children; a little boy that we have had since I picked him up at the hospital when he was only 3 days old (he's 4 1/2 now) and his half sister who is 9 3/4 now. They certainly keep us busy. We are currenly fostering a 16 year old girl and her 11 month old baby boy. Yep, that makes six kids! The Fillo household is wild and chaotic the majority of the time but filled with lots of love. The kids have kept us insanely busy with soccer, baseball, softball, AAU basketball (x2 - Ashley & Adin both)), youth football, swimming and gymnastics in addition to their school sports!
