School Good old Glenbard West....I was definitely not a popular kid but fell more into the nerd category. I loved Miss Dowling (English) and Sr. Diaz, my Spanish teacher. I went steady pretty much the whole time I was in High School with Andy McLain, who is still a really good guy. One of my best memories of high school itself was being part of a voluntary senior girls gym class...the old gym had been condemned, basically, and there was no room for us in Biester, so we were actually exempt from Senior Gym class that year. I took it anyway; we did great things like camping, etc. rather than just the usual. What the heck was that gym teacher's name??? Her mother was always in charge of uniforms and towels....I also remember the time that the guys streaked the field during some game or other, at halftime, I think. College I attended East Carolina University, majoring in Science Education, when I was in my 30's...it was a hundred mile round trip from where I lived in New Bern, NC. I had to wait until my two kids were a bit older before I felt comfortable leaving them for a trip like that. After I moved back to Illinois (just 6 years ago) I completed my Master's in Ed.
