Since high school I got married and played a lot for first few years. I worked making water purifiers and then as a darkroom tech in the Radiology dept at Meadowcrest. I had a son at 24 and then my whole life changed. I grew up, but my husband didn't and I didn't want to be married to a partier anymore. I left my husband, worked full time and went to school parttime until my son was five. Then I moved to Natchitoches and went back to school full time.
I graduated with a BA in Anthropology, a minor in history and whole lot of elective hours in psychology. I got married again to a great guy who has been a great father to my son. He has a day job for telecommunications co and at night he's the guitar instructor at NSU. He also performs regularly, mostly jazz.

My son is now a sophomore at NSU in graphic design. He's very creative, and very handsome, if I do say so myself.
I've had stage IIIC breast cancer that had spread out of the breast and the docs were very pessimistic, but nevertheless, I've been cancer free for 2 1/2 years. You can read all the gory details, if you're interested in that sort of thing, in the blog I kept at the time - cancerevents.blogspot.com. I put on a bit of weight from the steroids they pumped me up with, which is why I don't post any pictures. But I'm working hard at getting fit. Perhaps, eventually, I'll feel okay with posting pictures.
One of the prompt questions is "how do you hope old friends remember you?" I hope my friends from junior high remember me in my cheerleading uniform cracking jokes and spewing sarcasm. In high school, well, I got a little weird in high school, but I hope I stand out in memory as someone with wit and humor. There are plenty of things I'd rather old friends didn't remember about me.
