Dawn's Story
After my graduation from LSU, I was hired to teach in Denver Public Schools. I taught there for 18 years, earning both my Master's Degree (MEd) and my principal license. I now teach in Aurora Public Schools, which is next door to Denver. It's not as urban, but still has a shifting population that is growing in both English Language Learners and poverty.

ts to the local theater. My life is full of friends and family. Since my dad's retirement, he and my mom spend their summers here in Colorado. My nieces and nephew join us for a week or so every summer. We go to loads of free concerts, play lots of games, and annually attend the Boulder Shakespeare Festival, where we've seen many plays performed in an outdoor amphitheatre. Sylvia would be proud!
