Shelly's Story
After high school I went to Arizona State for a few years and then joined the Army. I needed the Army at the time because I was not sure what to do and it seemed like something to do!
Well it was. I went to Basic Training at Ft. Jackson, SC and then on to Advanced Training at Redstone Arsenal Alabama and then on to Jump School. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, and worked on TOW and Dragon Missles. I spent sometime "some where in the desert" for Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
I eventually decided that digging holes and living in the desert was not for me ...Expand for more
and when my enlistment ended in 1992 I when to school at NC State University. I worked a few jobs after that and then went back to school to get my MS at Oklahoma State University.
I worked for the State of Oklahoma until 2000 when I got a job with the US Army Corps of Engineers (as a civilian). I enjoy working for the Corps and work as an Enforcement project manager usually. However in Sept 2008 I deployed to Iraq as a Project Engineer. I will return to the states Sept 2009. I find it amusing that it appears that I have ended up back where I started!
