Dean's Story
I lived in North Moorhead. My parents moved there at the end of my 6th grade. I attended 7th & 8th grade at St. Francis de Sales. 9th grade at North Junior High. My 10th grade was at Moorhead High, the following high school education was at Moorhead State. I graduated with a nursing degree from NDSU. I have a bachelors degree.. r to my RN. I had long hair in 10th grade and was known has the “hippie “ of the class. Jim Gotta once sent me to the office for wearing high boot moccasins outside of my pants. Needless to say, I ended up having to wear them inside my pants.
In 9th grade, a classmate gave me the nickname “Chili”. That nickname stuck for several years. I was a roadie for couple of well known local bands back in the 70’s. 1) Overland Stage. 2) The Uglies. 3) The Gravel Road Band.
