Dean's Story
Life
I live in Hong Kong now and have done so for the last two years. I am working for a USA aerospace firm as a lawyer, and also going to school at the University of Hong Kong, where I am finishing my SJD (a lawyer's PhD).
I still keep my condo in Long Beach and return home often--about every 6-8 weeks.
Hong Kong is a great palce for those who want to live in China/Asia, but dont dare live amonst the calamity of mainland China. Its also convenient for my job, which takes me to China often.
if you are coming out this way, look me up!
School
Definitely the stink bombs that I with them help of some friends, set off in English class on the last day of my junior year. Oh, and lets not forget the time I was almost arrested for stealing cookies at the cafeteria after somebody put them in the hood of my Mod Parka.....nice one. B ut i guess, overally, High School sucked, but who cares at this point.....
College
Hmm...well I went to many Universities, includinb...Expand for more
g CSULB, Chapman University, University of Hong Kong, etc.....
Although I am far from a professional student, I have managed to earn an AA, BA, BS, MA, J.D., LLM, and am working on my SJD at Hong Kong U now (but also working).
Lets just say graduating with a BA and BS, but not with the grades I needed to go where I really wanted, the rest was all about paying extra dues and proving myself.
Chapman University Law School is my Alma Mater. Its a great school and they have done so much to expand and improve over the last few years. I will never forget them for giving me the chance to study law.
Workplace
I am now Director of International Procurement for a California Based Aerospace company, and my main job is contract negotiations with Chinese and other asian suppliers. I go to China often, and speak, read and write mandarin Chinese, which helps....Cantonese is another story, but I am learning (slowly). My home base is the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.
