Dean's Story
Graduated from Limerick High School 1963. Salutatorian.
Employed at Eastern Slope Inn, N. Conway 1963
Employed at Limerick Corporation 1964-1966 summers.
Attended Portland School of Art 1963-1967. Majored in commercial, graphic and fine arts.
US Army 1967-1969 as an aviation draftsman at FT. Lewis, Washington and a Confinement Specialist MP at USAEUR Stockade, Mannheim, Germany.
Self employed as a free lance fine artist and sign painter 1970-1975
Married Holly D. Hayes of Limerick in 1976.
1975-2002 Employed 27 yrs as a textile designer in the woven label industry at Tennford Weaving Co./Sher Woven Label Inc., then Alkahn Woven Label in Sanford, ME until its closing.
1975-2004 Played in many rock and country bands as a guitarist, bass player and soundman.

Graduated from Bridge Education, Westbrook, ME completing three computer graphics courses in 2003.
Employed at Sears Maine Mall 2003 in Lawn and Garden Sales.
2003-2004 Employed at Maine Woodsmith, Westbrook, ME, furniture finishing and restoration.
2004-2009. Employed at Whatman, then GE Healthcare/Whatman in Sanford ME. Lean support technician/etch tech for track etch, cell culture and black dye membranes. 5 1/2 years with company.
2010-2015 Employed by new owner, Maine Manufacturing LLC, now GVS North America in Sanford ME. Manufacturing track etched cancer detection and micro and nano micron-porous filtration media. Cross trained as a Nikon microscope and Scanning Electron Microscope operator. 13 years at the same location, with 4 owners.
Retiring from GVS North America June 30, 2017
