Deanna's Story
I graduated, went to work as a personal asst tohelp pay for college and realized I was making more money then I would if I finished school!
I travelled, went on vacations, and had the best time in the world.
1997 - met my sons dad, moved to Italy. My precious little man was born on Aug 28, 1998, Giuseppe Michele Scaduto.
2006 - 9/14 I was hit by a Mack truck east bound on Sunrise Hwy by Hospital Rd. The truck left the scene. They say its a miracle I'm alive, I just kept thinking about my son, and knew I had to live for him. I spent 13 days in ICU and 24 more days in a hosp bed and rehab. I have plates, screws, titanium rods, scars, perm nerve damage and long term memory loss.
I'm a single mom. I prefer it that way, because my son is #1 and will never come second to any man. My son was my inspiration to live, walk again and fight to be stronger. If I actually find a man that can deal with that and understand, I may consider changing my status!
Well, when dealing with being a single mom, and the kids make you nuts, I go outside, count to 50 and come back in - of course I have a cigarette when I'm out there too!!!
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have coffee, cigarettes,...Expand for more
and blackberry to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Steve Hocker, because I miss him most.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/2 of it to my sons college fund, then spend the rest on my mother, brother & sisters and travelling the world.
My current age is 38. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead by now.
I share my home with my son, 3 cats, 2 birds and a hamster named Hammy!!!
I guess what people never knew about me was that a took tap, jazz and ballet for about 20hrs a week, from when I was 3 until 17. I wanted to be a dancer, and did audition and make the Alvin Alley Dance Theatre when I was 16. But you had to be 18.
In 10 years, I hope to be in Florida. I'm going to get there by 2010.
My oldest friend is Camille Puglia. Her family moved around the corner from my house when we were 4 years old. I was a TomBoy and Camille was very Girlie Girlie. I always considered myself her protector.
My first job was at Caldor, where I got paid 3.10 an hr to watch the Jewlery counter. What I remember most about it is that me and Camille got the job together and we had to ride a bus out to BridgeHampton.
