Debbie's Story
Where do I begin with catching up on all these years? I got married right out of high school to a guy my mom really liked and encouraged me to marry but it didn't work out. At the age of 24 I found myself divorced with a young son and daughter to raise. We initially lived for a few years in Northern California, then in 1981 moved to Provo, Utah where they grew up. A few years after graduating from high school, they flew the coop...Elizabeth to Texas and Jimmy to Northern California. I ended up working in Idaho Falls, Idaho for a couple of years, then returned to sunny Southern California (Orange County) in November of 2005. I eventually ended up in Tustin in July 2006 and after being in the same LDS ward for awhile, started dating a guy there in February 2006. I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right!.
I am an advertising/marketing copywriter and author by profession. Although my books have primarily been in the field of natural health, I recently published a book teaching people how to start businesses with their hobbies, skills, talents and experience. It is called "Turn Your Talents Into Gold."
I really enjoy writing. I started when I was around eight years old and remember my third grade teacher, Miss Hodges (Roosevelt Elementary School) reading my rabbit stories to the class. When I was at Paramount Junior High I wrote adventure stories about the Monkees and included my friends in the stories.
