Debbie's Story
I have been married to Gene Tanner for 25 years. I have two children, Bethanie(25) and Brandon(17). My husband is a corrections officer, my daughter is a chiropractic assistant, and my son is a senior at Puyallup High School.
I didn't become a veterinarian like I always wanted to, but I do own a mini farm and run a horse boarding business,Tanner Farm, in Tacoma, with my husband. We have 3 horses, 2 mini horses, 2 cows, 4 pigs, 3 sheep, 5 goats, 1 alpaca, 1 duck, 1 goose, about 20 chickens, 4 roosters, 4 barn cats, 2 house cats, and 3 dogs.
I also run my own bookkeeping and tax business, Tanner's Unlimited. I have been a bookkeeper since 1987. I started professionally preparing taxes in 1993. I worked for H&R Block ...Expand for more
from 1999 to 2009, when I officially went out on my own. I love being my own boss!
When I'm not working I spend most of time driving my son all over the state, so that he can show his horses. I teach Sunday School at Good Shepherd Lutheran, my childhood church. I enjoy drawing, painting, sewing, caligraphy, home improvement projects, designing new furniture and redoing old furniture to turn it into something new and improved. My life is usually pretty busy but at least I'm not bored.
I still keep in touch with Stephanie Kelley and Cindy Rude from our class, JodI Rude from the class of 1984, Barbara Sanders, John Swanson, and Polly Ross from the class of 1985, and of course my sister Sherrie from the class of 1982.
