Debbie's Story
Life
After School I worked and went to State Tech part time. In 1980 I received an associates degree in business data processing and became a programmer. Also that year I met my future husband at church. I thought marrying James was the RIGHT thing to do, so I ignored the warning signs and my doubts and married in 1982. I stayed in programming for 4 years until I became pregnant with our first child. I stayed home with my children. I divorced James in 1997 after finding out about years of his continued deceit and unfaithfulness. We had 3 children and were married 15 years.
>>>>>>> 2009 UPDATES <<<<<<<<<<<< My oldest daughter, Malinda, is 23. My favorite son,Jeremy is 21. Malinda and Jeremy are both living in Columbus, OH. My baby, Amanda is 18 and a senior. She plans on attending OSU starting in the fall. ( I'd rather her stay local and live here! But I'm glad OSU is just 45 minutes away.) We have 2 small dogs that were strays... one is a poodle and the other a pomeranian. I've been married to my 2nd husband for 10 years now. He's a good man.... most of the time. He works in aviation. I went back to work in medical billing. My newest fun thing has been playing games on the computer at King.com. I play for money sometimes. I've lost almost all I deposited ($10 last week), 65 cents at a time. I feel old these days. I get aches and pains and it is so hard to lose weight.
>>> 2010 updates <<<<
I'm in the process of changing jobs. What fun! I'll still be in medical billing but will have to drive 35 minutes to Dayton, if I get that job.
I pulled something in my left foot so I've been limping for about a month now. The older I get, the easier things break. :)
>> Scott still works at the airport and we take advantage of the flying perks. We don't go many places, usually just to see family, but it's nice to be able to fly free. He flew to Florida this week to check out a 1995 Goldwing. He decided not to get it though.
>> My babies, the dogs, are great. They enjoy riding with us on the motorcycle in the baby carriers. Scott carries Sandy and I get the back seat with Littl...Expand for more
e Man.
>> Malinda is almost 25 and moved to Sacramento, CA where she works and goes to college part time.
>> Jeremy is 22 and still not sure about what he wants to be when he grows up. Still in Columbus, OH.
>> Amanda is a freshman at OSU. She's considering becoming a dietician. She's a certified Zumba exercise instructor and leads a class on Friday nights. She just started the class 3 weeks ago and says she really enjoys it. She doesn't get paid much, but it's good experience.
>>>>>>>>>> 2024 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I now work front office with a physician group in Jamestown, OH. I can honestly say that they are my work family. I really like it there. ---I guess we all know what it's like to get old. Aches and pains here, both knees replaced last year. There's always something going wrong.--- I am so blessed to have a church pastor who preaches the truth and is not afraid of who he offends by doing it. This world is such a mess. I do hope all of my old friends know Christ as their savior so I will see you all in Heaven someday. --- You all knew me when I was young and shy but still managed to make so many mistakes growing up. If only I could go back and fix things. I guess we all feel that way sometimes. I'm grateful for grace. --- These days I enjoy simple things. My 2 rescued dogs bring much joy. My husband is faithful and loves me. I will go out of my way to help an animal when I can (especially dogs). I feed the birds (rabbits and squirrels stop by too.) I catch bugs and put them outside at work and at home. I hate killing anything. I take joy in planting flowers from seed and appreciate the beauty they bring. I don't write my life poems like I used to, not sure why. Time goes by so fast. I learned recently that I am an "empath". I feel the pain of others easily. Mom used to say I was tender hearted. I'm still a deep thinker I guess. I never go to class reunions. A bit of insecurity there I guess. I have too many wrinkles! *** Would love to read other people's updates ***
Well, I guess that's all. I hope you are happy and well. May God keep you in His care. ~Deb
