Debi's Story
Life
Lived longer than I had prepared. Now the body parts need to be fixed. Mick Jagger is right---it is a drag getting old...but it sure beats the alternative. Still doing comedy (improv mostly), getting paid, and no one has caught on. Have a lovely house in the Sunset District of SF--I drive a 2000 RAV4 and I love it. I am such a SF Giants fan most of my wardrobe is orange and black. Been married 27 years (6 of the happiest years of my life, no 2 in contiguous order) to Mr. Will Durst, political comic extraordinaire...I'm waiting for my half of everything to be worth something...we go to Spring Training every March, Jazzfest in New Orlea...Expand for more
ns in April, Hawai'i (da beeg Island) when the ToBeRead pile is too big. I write, I do voice work (I did 3 voices in Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas), I emcee the SF Cable Car Bell Ringing Contest in Union Square, I'm President of the Board of Directors of SF Comedy Celebration Day, I hang out at Tosca on Columbus, I could live on sushi, I still live like a college kid, and being one of the oldest comedians who did not move to L.A., many young ones come to us for advice. If you know your Anne Rice, I call Will and myself the Ankiel and Akasha of comedy. I am the Queen of the Island of Misfit Toys--we're circus people and loving it!!
