Deborah's Story
Life
My Spouse
We met at a friends house in 1979 in Oshkosh,Wisconsin. He has been retired from the military for nine years and runs a dog training business in our home. We work with behavior problem dogs, all sizes, all breeds and all ages. He is the dog whisperer for Austin TX.
My Pets
Our dog is 13, a yellow lab who is a trained therapy dog. Chico and I visit a nursing home on Saturday mornings. He is also search and rescue certified and has found two lost children with my husband(his trainer).

My Job
I have now been working in the field of special education for 31 years. Both my bachelors and masters degrees are from UW-Oshkosh and my Ph. D. from UW-Madison.
I am currently the Special Education Director for a cooperative of seven charter schools in Austin Texas. I also do consulting with other charter schools across the state of Texas in special education compliance and inservice training in behavior management skills. I received funding for a Federal grant I wrote 2 years ago to start a school based mentoring program for the at-risk students in the same charter schools.
