Deborah's Story
Where do you start telling the story of 40+ years? Well, we'll just skip over the first, oh, ten. =) Married David Harbolt, AV nerd turned electrician, in 1980. We lived in the Columbus area and have two kids together, Dylan and Montana, and got divorced in 1990. After my divorce - yes I was almost 40 - I went back to school, finished my bachelor's, got my master's degree in social work, and began working for barely more than minimum wage. Salary didn't fit into my reckoning when I went back to school, apparently. Nearly killed myself (figurately speaking) working for 10+ years as a mental health clinician. Now I run a program specializing in treatment for victims of crime that may have PTSD. Living outside the city finally, near Plain City so I can work in Columbus. I would love nothing more (or so I imagine) than to retire and spend my time making my specialty soaps, gardening and visiting with friends and family.

ber) and his wife Maureen have one son named Brock (light of my life, of course) and another son due to hit the ground running (if he's anything like his big brother) in January '11. Montana (26) has been working for Lucky Brand Jeans for the past...oh..long time and Dylan is an electrician - just like his Dad! Montana graduated from OSU - just like her Mom! - and is the proud mama of two wild and crazy rescued dogs. I couldn't be prouder of who these two kids are - especially given who their parents were!!! :} Lucky for me, they both decided to stay in Columbus. And they kind of still like me.
Mom is still living in Marion and is in good health for her age. She really hates it when people say "for her age". I'm starting to relate to that. My three sisters are also hale and hearty, Dinah is in Marion, Yvonne in Rochester Hills, MI, and Linda in Rialto, CA.
I think I did it. 40+ years in a few paragraphs. Would love to hear your story!
