Deborah (Debbie)'s Story
I tried college after Marillac, but in 1976 I meet John and it was love at first sight.
We married in '79. We have 4 kids,a boy & a girl from his first marriage and a boy & a girl together (ages 36 -24). We raised them all (he had custody) so I was a stay at home Mom for 21 years. Then one day in 2002 I up and enrolled in college again. I have my AA in Legal Studies and plan to complete my BA in Psych.
Off and on over the years I have been a school bus drver, lunch-lady, daycare worker, soccer coach, baseball coach, scout leader (boys & girls), youth group leader, religious education director, insurance agent, tax preparer, and bookkeeper.
But my true passion is the law, family law specifically. After working as a parplegal for a couple of lawyers I landed a possition in the courts. I'm now a Judicial Assistant in Family Court (Child Support). I'd love to be a judge, so who knows, maybe I'll go to Law School when I retire.
We moved to Florida 13 years ago. And even though I still miss snow, I love it rig...Expand for more
ht here!
We are on the West Coast (Bradenton - look it up). I wake up everyday in paradise. I'm at the beach every chance I get. We also love to ride our bikes when it's not too hot. And If any of you thought Illinois was flat, you should see Florida..no hills for this girl thank you.
Hubby sells insurance for the "Duck" (AFLAC) and 3 out of 4 of the kids are married. Now our 'baby' is a 5 yr old Lab named Coco.
We have two granddaughters, ages 8 & 6, a grandson 18 mos old and another grandson on the way in spring 2009. They live in Indy so I try to get up there at least once a year.
I love to travel and I usually get back to Chicago every summer and for snow in Jan/Feb every year.
I have become a real southern girl. I eat grits and drink sweet tea with my barbeque and if the temperature drops below 70 I get chilled and below 60 I pull on a sweater and fuzzy socks.
If you want to visit the best beaches in Florida (maybe the best anywhere) they are right here. And I love to have visitors, so look me up.
