Life I have a wonderful husband, Richard McGhee and 5 daughters and 2 beautiful granddaughters. Lindsey Lumbert - deceased at age 16 on June 20, 1997. Leigh McGhee, stepdaughter - 27, mother of my 1st grandchild, Jaycee Obermier - 4, and married to Jason Obermier. Kelly McGhee, stepdaughter - 24. Stepdaughter, Alicia Lumbert - 19 and granddaughter, Mallory born on August 11, 2006 and Mikaela McGhee - 14, my baby. School I graduated from Velma-Alma High School in 1975. The love of my life was my best friend's brother. Mrs. Mildred Prater inspired me the most - probably the reason I always made an A in my college English classes. I loved playing basketball - it was my life and eventually graduated from college so I could be a coach. One of the happiest times I had in high school was when I was chosen as Basketball Queen. My escort, Eddie Sutton and I still hold the record for the longest crowning kiss. The craziest day I had was when Jana Little and I went out the window during homemaking and went to the DQ. On the way, her tire and wheel came completely off of the car. We walked back to school and told Mrs. Powers and she didn't even get mad or send us to the office. Another great time was when Lisa Files and I went to Lake Texhoma because the football boys were there. I was dating James Layn and went to see him. Mr. Anderson, the coach caught him and a couple of other guys coming back to their camp site and loaded them up for home. When Lisa and I pulled back into Velma, there they were. They had beat us back. I later married David Lumbert and we had the most beautiful, most intelligent, All-American girl in the world. She was the daughter most mothers only dream of having.
