Life
I am married to David Michalak, Meridian High class of 1969. We have 1 son, Doug, who is 28 years old. I retired from Meridian Public Schools in Sanford in June of 2007 after teaching there for 30 years
We are cat lovers and have 5 in our house and 5 outside. Yes, I am still a vegetarian and a great animal lover/protector! Our son is a vegetarian, too. Dave is a meat and potatoes man! :)
I love to collect old books, especially those of interest to women (from the 1800s or earlier) and old magazines (prior to 1950--they are little bits of h...Expand for more
istory, fashion, etc!). I have many pen pals (now e-pals!) from all over the world: 1 in Uruguay, 1 in Russia, 1 in Germany, 1 in Canada, and many in the USA. I love learning about different cultures. My pen pal, Myriam, from Uruguay, has come to stay with me twice.
I am enjoying not getting up early any more since I retired!! I meet once a month with a group of retired women teachers for lunch or brunch. I hope to do some volunteer work but I haven't committed to anything yet.
