Deborah's Story
Life
I'm married and very thankful for our 2 kids : ) I'm a Professor and enjoy it! I got married in 1993. Our son was born in 2001 and daughter in 2003. We greatly enjoy time with the kids & spend lots of time at parks especially on the weekend. I have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, MBA, & BS in BA. I teach undergraduate/graduate courses and perform research. My primary reason for loving teaching is that it gives me the flexibility needed to better balance family life but I must admit that another benefit is being around students as it keeps me feeling young and makes me not take life too seriously : ) I worked for NASA for over 10 years but one day I awakened and thought that...Expand for more
the politics of government had just gotten old resulting in my career change in 2003. As for my husband, he was the department head for History teaching IB and AP high school history and was the head football coach until switching careers back into the Coast Guard (in 05). After he was called to active duty twice since 9/11, he decided he would just switch back permanantely but in a full-time reserve slot so we will never have to move. I have no doubt that he will go back to teaching eventually but he enjoys the change of pace for now. Well, a little lengthy as I definitely am no longer known as being quiet ; ) I sincerely hope all is well with everyone!!
