Debra's Story
Well.... You all probably remember that I had a little girl in my Sr. year. That was such a hard time for me but she was worth it. She is now 17 years old and she is a great kid!
As for me, my first husband passed away in 1993. It was just me and Heather for a while which gave us time to heal and bond. I went back to school and obtained my AA in Business Admin. and started working for a cardservice company. In 1997 I met my current husband Bo. He has 1 boy and 2 girls. At that time his son was living with him and his girls where with BM.
In 1999 we were married and moved up to Calaveras County in a town name Mokelumne Hill where we had 5 acres of beautiful country. We have one child together and gain custody of his 2 girls and BM is gone most of the time. We have been one family unit for the past 8 years. Until recently I have been a stay at home mom. Now I am in the Real Estate Business here in Jackson, CA. My husband sales cars at Prospect Motors Amador Toyota and has been there for about 8 years.
In December we finally sold our home and moved over the river into Amador County to Jackson. We love our new home and are very happy to be closer to things.

ldren are Kyle, 18, (Army National Guard) Heather, 17, Breana, 15, Courtney, 13 and the one that glue's us all together is Katelynn, 8. My son has moved out and is currently stationed in Germany. Me and my girls love to go up to the snow, hang out at the many lakes around us, fish, camp, boating, shop, and just hang out at home when we can.
It's kinda funny how things turn out in life... My daughter, Heather, has a friend who just had a little boy. She is 16 years old. And I know just how she feels.... And I am soooo grateful to God for my own experience of being a teenage mother. This teenager, whom I love dearly (known her since she was in 2nd grade), is able to connect with someone that has been there.... And has made it!
I just want to say that if it was not for my daughter.... I would have ended up dead or in jail. I was headed down a path of destruction and God knew he had to give me a wake up call that I would hear. It took some time but I grew up and put her needs above my own. I'm so glad I did.
What a joy it truly is to be a mother. And now I have 5 children who I love just as if they where all mine. I love my life!!!
