Debra's Story

Hey! It is hard to believe that over 30 years ago was the last time I walked the halls of Largo. Alot has changed since then. I don't smoke anymore. That was hard to give up but I am glad that I did. I snagged a younger man and when I was graduating High School he was only 10. (What a thought) I have been married to Ben for 24 years and we have 3 children. Kathryn (19), Megan (16), and Ben Jr. (11). I live in Calvert County and love it but it too is changing alot. I have worked for the Department of Agriculture for 32 years. I am a IT Manager and the job is pretty intense. I always thought I would do something a bit more exciting. I will save the adventurous stuff for retirement. My sister Tina and brother Russell also live in Calvert and we keep in touch. My Dad died May 15, 2008 and it was an extremely difficult time...Expand for more
for our family. We still miss him alot. I think he employed most of the teenage boys in Pointer Ridge and was a father figure to alot of the guys. It is tough to see your parents get old and die. I still feel young at heart and sometimes cannot believe that I am 51 years old. My kids remind me all the time that I am old (thanks kids). I feel very blessed for the life I have been given and would not change a thing. If I was mean to you in High School - get over it! Kids do stuipid things and that does not mean you are a bad person only that you made some bad decisions. I am really trying hard to teach my kids to be a better person than I was back in my younger days. I hope all of my classmates are doing well and pray for the ones who have not made it this far and miss them dearly especially Trina Smith and Mike Healy.
