Debra's Story
Life
Well, I definitely haven't slowed down since High School! I've done the full thing - eight years of college, marriage, moved to a different state (and moved back). I'm even the proud mama of a beautiful little girl, born in October of 2004. Her name is Kamryn Alexandra Shelby Turner (say that five times fast). She is the light of my life! We are also expecting baby number two in July. Kamryn is very excited to be a big sister.
I currently live with my husband, Ryan (yes, the guy I started dating my junior year of high school), my daughter and our mini Rat Terrier, Holly Berry, in West Jordan.
Right out of high school I began my eight year journey of becoming an attorney. I'm proud to say after 4 years at the U of U and another 4 at Willamette University College of Law and Atkinson Graduate School of Management in Salem, Oregon, I'm a full fledged attorney! d I landed an incredible position at Tomax Corporation, a retail management software company located in downtown Salt Lake. As General Counsel and HR Manager I get to do just about everything under the sun (trust me, I work the hours to prove it). I also do additional legal work on the side for Whitford Law Offices, a Salem, OR based firm that I started with while in law school.
College
My time at the U flew! It was the fastest four years of my life. I spent most of my time there studying and working. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to get involved. Plus, it is really hard to be involved at such a large university. I immediately started Law School at Willamette University after graduation. I graduated from both the law school and business school in the spring of 2005. After eight straight years of college, I had enough. That, and my student loans were at the point of no return!
