Debra's Story
After we graduated I moved to Auburn, WA to attend college. Spent two years studying Forestry there. Then after working for the USFS for a year I moved down to Gresham, OR for a couple more years of college.
Met my eternal partner one evening after breaking up with an old high school sweetheart . We've been blissfully married for 38 years. We have two children, a gorgeous daughter who is 36 and divorced. And a wonderful son who is 35 a body builder, single and looking. Our daughter gave us two beautiful grandchildren Maty and Isaac.
My hubby and I were avid motorcyclists. That is until my husband's heart attack. Unfortunately motorcycles and heart medicine don't go hand in hand. But we totally enjoyed riding prior to that. We traveled all over the USA on our bikes. His and hers don't ya know! From Florida to Washington DC we rode together until my husband wasn't healthy enough to keep the bikes. Our lives changed but that's OK too. We grow as we change.
I have been told that I've picked up quite a southern Accent along the way. I guess living in southern Indiana aka Kentuckiana will do that to you. My friends tell me that they love my accent and it compliments my personality.
After my husband's heart attack in 2005 he retired. I kept the business open for another 3 years and I retired in 2008. After much prayer and supplication to the Lord we have been lead to leave beautiful southern Indiana and move to a lit...Expand for more
tle town in SE Idaho.
Our daughter and her two children now live with us in the wonderful little haven in the Rocky Mountains. I spend most of my days caring for my husband and grandchildren. We are active in our church we visit the Temple in Rexburg on a regular basis, I teach one Sunday a month for Relief Society and my husband and I are both Ward Missionaries. Its a wonderful life!
Many people ask us why we moved here to SE Idaho. Well you will just have to find me on Facebook and see how Heavenly Father lead us to the wonderful place. Its truly a miracle how it all occurred.
I always hoped that I could retire by the age of 50. Well I came pretty darn close and retired at the age of 51. My story is one of rags to riches and I shared it all with my eternal companion. Can't ask for more then that in life.
And my degree in Forestry, well other then the two years I worked for the USFS I haven't worked in my field. I went back to school in Indiana and became a Certified Public Adjuster. My husband and I worked side by side creating a business that to this day still blesses us.
I'm an adoptee and I found both of my birth parents. This too has been a huge blessing in my life. I have brothers and sisters who are wonderful to me and give me added joy in my life.
While it hasn't always been a bed of roses, trouble has found its way into our lives we still find time to rejoice and praise our Heavenly Father.
