Deena's Story
Life
My best memories growing up are of life in Orosi. We moved to Orosi just before 4th grade. That first year at East Orosi was wonderful. Playing in the big open fields around the school. The grass grew so high and we tore it down to build forts from which to battle the boys.
Mrs Evans was my fourth grade teacher. Hector Chevera sat behind me. The desks were the old fashioned ones with the ink wells in the corner and the lift up seats.
Mr Butts was a great teacher and my neighbor. He taught 5th I think and he had a scroll saw in his classroom and taught us how to use it. It was the first time I had ever used an electric tool.
I have been living in Citrus Heights Ca since 1978 with my husband of 43 years, 44 in Sept. We have 1 daughter 39 and 1 grandson 16. I have worked in a department store at the perfume counter, been a file clerk, Avon and Amway rep, worked at Pizza Hut, was Manager of a sandwich shop, an instructor at Soledad Prison, transit driver, merchandiser, mystery shopper. Now I am Show Coordinator and Achivist for Village RV wher...Expand for more
e I also fill in doing filing, reception and service cashiering when needed.
We have a motorhome and enjoy traveling, seeing our country the slow and easy way. We have been to 16 or 17 states and DC in the motor home or our previous little trailer. Would like to go to the others also. We loved the cruise to the Caribbean we won a few years back.
Daughter, Tracy and grandson, Jamey live about 20 miles away in Folsom and we see each other every couple weeks except when Jamey is in ice hockey, then it is 2 times a week.
I enjoy reading, TV, crafts and I love flowers but don't like yard work. Gary does most of that. We usually have a garden and enjoy eating and canning what we grow.
We have an 8 ft bass boat that we go out in and I love canoeing on the lakes we visit. Hiking is fun and taking pictures of the flora and fauna wherever we go. Gary loves the camera too. He also has a sailboat he built from a pattern at PDRacer.com. A picture of it is in the local fleet section in California at the above website.
That's all for now will add more later.
