a. Great fun getting high and stopping the war, lousy grades in everything else, dropped out. Second try: 1998 San Diego City College, dean's list, Associate Degree in Radio and Television 2 years later. News writer and announcer on local jazz radio station for a couple years during school. NO work was available locally, and by then Mom needed my help all the time, and moving to another city was not an option. Returned to boring life thereafter, but knowing I could succeed academically, even after all that time, saved my sanity and possibly my existence. Military I am not now nor have I ever been, nor will I ever be, associated in even the remotest way with any military branch or organization. Well, Dad was in the Army in WWII but he spent most of the war in a hospital in the States with pneumonia. And I did have a blind date with a guy in the Navy. But that's it. How I hope my classmates remember me: I hope you see the inner me now much more than you remember the outer me from schooldays. As I've gotten reacquainted with many of you in recent months/years, I am surprised and gratified to know that I like a whole lot more of you now than I did back then. I am looking forward to our 40th class reunion in 2010. I want to connect with as many of you as I can. Please drop me a note here, or on Facebook. Apparently 1988 is when I stopped listening to top 40 radio. :)
