Dell's Story
Life
Following HS I attended and graduated from The College of Idaho and then earned my PhD from Oregon State University. I taught in Boise, Idaho for four years, then at North Salem HS in Salem, Oregon for two years then a professor at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon for about 30 years. I also taught at Mendocino College in Ukiah, CA for four years and at the University of Arkansas, Littlerock and the University of Central Arkansas for two years. lark College for seven years in the 1990s and taught in California and Arkansas before returning to Lewis & Clark in 1998). Highlights of my teaching were leading Lewis & Clark College study programs to Kenya, East Africa in 1984 and to India in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
I retired from Lewis & Clark College in 2005 and continue to live in Portland, Oregon. My wife, Helen, and I have two children who live in Portland and they were significant reasons why we returned to Portland in 1998.
