Deloris's Story
Life
I met Paul in May of 1997 online through mutal friends. We met for the first time face-to-face on July 4th, 1997, when he flew in to Charlotte from Manchester, England. After several trips back and forth, and many late nights chatting online, Paul proposed to me in July of 1998. We completed all the necessary INS documents, and ran off to elope on June 17, 1999. We celebrated our eighth anniversary this year. We live in Charlotte near UNCC, where Paul works in the Chemistry Department.
School

ning my degree in Elementary Education, I accepted an interium position at David Cox Rd. Elementary in third grade. At the end of the school year, I declined the offer to become a full-time teacher at David Cox, and accepted a position at Newell Elementary School in fifth grade. This is my eighth year at Newell. I am currently pursuing my National Board certification.
College
After graduating high school, I attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where I earned my degree in Elementary Education.
