Denise's Story
Life
After Sandburg I went to NIU for a couple of years, but the freedom of no parents and the daily parties did me in and I was back home by 1987. I finished up at DePaul several years ago. I've been married to Tom Horton (class of 1987) for 17 years. We have three children, Samatha Jean (deceased), Sydney Shea (11) and Abby Rae (5). arketing. I currently work for a software company headquartered in San Diego, but work out of my home. I love my job and have the flexibility of working from home when I'm not traveling which is great. Tom is a carpenter, specializing in trim work. We still live in the South Suburbs in Crestwood. We bought an old house 12 years ago to fix up and sell as an investment and fell in love with our neighbors, so one huge remodeling project and one addition later, we're still here.
