Denise's Story
Life
I'm a "computer geek" in the Seattle, WA area. 10.5 years at Boeing, 2.9 years with a computing consulting firm and since 2002 at Starbucks Coffee Company doing UNIX and Storage Network support. Graduated from OIT in 1988. I'm also a retired Major (23.3 years) from the Oregon Army Guard/Army Reserve and am a Desert Shield/Storm vet (1990-91). Married to a great guy since 1990, 2 dogs, no kids.
College
Some of my favorites memories! OIT was great! Most of my instructors were excellent and obviously glad to be there. The 06:00 morning runs in ROTC the first two years, sucked, but it keeps ya in shape! The CSET/EE classes were the best and Mr. Burda's Physics classes.
Workplace

ort. Left Boeing, after 10.5 years, to work with the Puget Technology Group consulting firm. Joined the Starbucks Coffee Company IT team as an employee in 2002. I love my job and can't believe I get paid to do this stuff!
Military
I joined the National Guard right out of high school for "something" different. I discovered I loved the camaraderie, the discipline and the sense of duty and honor. Received my commission as an officer in 1985. Obtained the branch of Transportation officer. Spent 9 months on Army Active duty for Desert Shield/Storm. I transferred to the Reserve after returning from Desert Storm. Spent 11+ years in transportaion units and IT support at the HQs. I retired after 23.3 years. I enjoy supporting and defending what makes this a great country.
