Denise's Story
Life
I moved to Hawaii in July 1974. I'm beginning to feel the urge to return to lil ole Newport someday because that's where I'd like to spend my "Golden Years."
My Pets
I used to have an adorable cockatiel named Charley. Charley could sing "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." He knew he was beautiful because he'd often look into the mirror and give himself a "cat call." Charley would also sleep and take a shower with me, too, as well as check out anything that I was eating. I also used to have a dwarf bunn...Expand for more
y named Buns. He liked to play "Hide-and-Go-Seek" and run circles around my feet. I now have 2 incorrigible lovebirds, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee.
My Job
Honolulu Police Radio Dispatcher 1977-1989: crazy but fun, Hospital Ward Clerk 1989-1998: fun but crazy, Psychiatric Assistant: 1998-2000: real crazy, administrative assistant at present: boring but great co-workers. I used to do a lot of volunteer work and serve on several committees within the Catholic Church until I had to cut back after becoming my mother's caregiver.
