Pets, (AKA: my children):
Buddy & Sasha are both mongrels; part Pitt Bull I suppose. Sasha is still a puppy and annoys us with her puppy behavior. Buddy is 3 years old, smart, talented and gentle. If his owners, (that's us), were smart enough, he could definitely be a rescue dog. He is tenaciously attracted to balls & frisbees. And frequently, a crowd gathers 'round to watch his spectacular catches. He is one-of-a-kind!
[UPDATED 1/24/2008] Sasha is an adult now. She has become such the lit'l princess; hence her nickname: Princess Sasha of 'The Kingdom of Puppa Withea.'
Her kingdom is what I refer to as: my home. Our dogs give us such joy that we give them free range of the place. It is a mutually beneficial arrangement. Buddy and Sasha guard the kingdom from predators and undesirables. While the humans maintain the kingdom's structure and serve the puppies' needs. In all seriousness, they are very well behaved.
Buddy is officially a senior. His snout and eyebrows have turned gray, making him appear distinguished. Although his desire is unmistakable, he can no longer make the far-reaching, spectacular catches of his younger days. Though he will not be left behind, he will reach deep within his old soul and chase the ground squirrels with the best of them. On those days he gets dogie aspirin to take away the muscle soreness.

the neighborhood. Yep, here we go again through the puppy stage. It took Buddy and Sasha a week before they let him in pack but now they are best friends. The puppy's name is Shadow, which I dislike. The dog is completely white and has a goofy personality. He makes strange little noises that remind me of Scooby Doo and he makes an entrance into a room like a Rock Star. I like to call him SMuppy; short for Silly Puppy. At this date the Smuppy is 1 yr old.
[Update 12/2011] Buddy and Sasha both deceased. Shadow stayed with my ex-husband and I miss 'the smuppy' terribly. He visits when I have the time off but keeping such a lively, big dog in a small condo in the center of San Francisco isn't a good fit. He is happiest when he has a yard to roam. Poor me, living without puppy love at the moment.
Job:
Title: Senior Computing Specialist
Actual: Ldap & Authentication Administrator; Unix System Administrator; Middleware Administrator
My job is located in a beautiful atmosphere at the foothills of Northern California. Deer roam close to our facility and often can be seen in the parking lot. The job itself is like every other job; some days you like it and some days you don't. Overall, I enjoy my work.
I have changed employers at least twice since. The most recent change was made in 2007. Finally, after 11 years of searching, I have once again, found a company where I am proud to be associated. Again, I am encouraged and challenged. Could this be The One? The One Company at which to settle in and retire. With over twenty years ahead of retirement, that is very questionable. Does one work at one place for twenty-plus years anymore?
Most importantly, I enjoy the career I've chosen. It satisfies within any environment.
