Denise's Story
Life
I married Brad Halterman in 1994 and we have two children, Zachary-10 and Alexis-7, a pet lizard, Blaze and a pet cat, Purr Box.
Workplace
I worked at Burger King in high school. In college I worked at Rite Aid, CVS and Wal-Mart. After graduating with a BS I worked as a Probation Officer in Keyser. Then after graduating with a MA in Counseling I worked at an adolescent residential addictions unit in Cumberland. After receiving Licenses in Addiction and Mental Health Counseling in MD and WV I began working as a Regional Clinical Coordinator for WV System of Care and am now the Regional Director for Family Preservation Services of WV.

We got Zach involved in martial arts at the American Martial Arts Academy in Keyser in 2004. Since then we have all began studying American Free style Karate and Tang Soo Do. Brad earned a black belt in each last month and Zach is testing for his black belt in American Free Style Karate in September. Lexi just earned her red belt and is a year away from testing for her black belt. I am bringing up the rear with testing for my brown belt in June and planning to test for a black belt in in a years. We spend tons of time at the Karate School and with our Martial Arts family we have became a part of since getting involved with AMAA. What a Blast!
