Denise's Story
Life
I had been employed at a hospital since graduation, retired in January 2018. That lasted 2 months, got bored and now work part-time in a physicians office. Divorced, have 1 daughter and 2 grandchildren and 1 Great grandson. You will find me outdoors most of the time...either gardening, or just enjoying music and life in general. I keep busy by maintaining my current home, purchased as is from my mom. It is the house I grew up in. I love attending the events at the 8 Great Tuesdays, Summer Festival of the Arts, Jazz & Blues Festival (on Blues day), summer Saturday nights at the Penn Shore winery listening to the live bands, enjoying the wine, sunset and friends. I adopted a dog from the ANNA Shelter in 2014 and it was the best thing I have ever done.......Expand for more
best dog ever.
School
I was painfully shy in high school, choosing to stay in the background and not call attention to myself. Many people do not remember me because of that. I have since grown out of that phase, thank goodness. I will never forget the laughter I shared with Wilma Kelly and Marie Kuhns, and the good times in Miss Bryants art class.
Workplace
I started working at a hospital at age 18 as an aide, went back to school to become an LPN while continuing to work part-time,worked as an LPN for 20yrs, then went back to school via week-end college and now work as an RN, was employed at same hospital from 1969-2018.
Semi-retired, still working as a nurse in physicians office.
update: Retired end of December 2023. Keeping busy and living my best life now.
