Denise's Story

August 2010 Update.... Still in Lenexa, Kansas in a lovely "cabin in the woods" type home. Have been here going on 20 years and love the people and the climate; although the older I get, the more I dislike the winter! I retired a couple of years ago from 15 years in the corporate art world. I now have a thriving little 8 x 10 booth in a local antique mall. There I continually downsize my lifetime pottery collection, as well as recycle my garage sale treasures. I have a page on facebook just for fans/friends, so if you're on facebook, check it out and become a fan..... BOOTH 84. Hubby is contemplating retirement; daughter is almost 30 and lives nearby, dog is incredible cute and smart and I am content!! nation in late 70 to become an airline stewardess and SEE THE WORLD!! The "slump" in air travel in 71 necessitated looking at a different career, which led me to Omaha, NE, where I truly did my "growing up". Literally knocking on doors, I landed a job as a receptionist with an attorney (thanks again, Miss Beaufore for those typing classes!!!) and the rest is history....I now live in Lenexa, Kansas and would love to hear from any and all of you!!! College I wanted to "see the world" from about age 10 on.....after reading the bio of Amelia Earhart as a child, flying seemed the logical way to do it. McConnell Airline School was going to train me to be a stewardess but life intervened and I ended up as a legal secretary. A few more moves and a few more jobs ensued. I'll always have fond memories of my days at McConnell, it was a springboard of confidence!!
